Capturing the abstract nature of the unfolding wings
Preparing for the launch of the new Find N2 Flip smartphone and ColorOS13 operating system, OPPO invited us to create the set of the wallpapers integrating and underlining the essence of the updated line.
Combining the main motifs of the dragonfly and aquamorphism, we tried to underline abstract and organic nature of the forms, movement and materials.
Form
The development of the form was based on the principles of minimalism, plasticity and fluidity, revealing the beauty and simplicity of the concept.
Searching for a unique structure of the object, we delved into the RnD stage and tested a variety of options, relying on graphic fine lines, and more naturalistic elements.
Generating the illusion of endless motion, the lines gently reveal and imitate the physical gesture of opening a foldable smartphone.
Colors and materials
The glossy, reflective surface creates an effect of transparency and weightlessness, while the shadow playing keeps the saturation and variety of textures.
Balancing color intensity and visual complexity succeeded in creating soft light-gold and dark-purple gradients with varying degrees of reflections and blurs.
Effects
To visually enhance the revealing moment of the phone, we created the effect of spreading scales.
Fusing with the materials and color palette of the main form, the small clusters fill it out, adding extra volume.
